When This Is All Over

When all this is over, who will you be?

When all this is over where will you be?

When all this is over, what will be different in the world?

What will be different about you?

I am sick of this!  Why can't things just go back to the way they were?  I miss the good old days.

So...here is the news; the world will never go back to the former times and ways; however, God is in control.  That should bring peace and perhaps excitement to our lives.

Why?  Read this gem with me...

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.   2 Corinthians 4:7-12

Did you get that? Treasure.  Jars of clay.  The treasure is Jesus...and we, his chosen ones, are the jars of clay.

OK, what does this mean and how does it relate to us, today?

The world is moving and changing, rapidly, but we find ourselves moving not quite as fast.  We fear lagging behind and missing out on what the world offers. There is also the fear of moving a direction contrary to the times.

We ask, "what will happen to me?  What if I don't change?  Will this ever really be over?"

Now, the Good news!

The treasure is still Jesus.  We are hard pressed and perplexed, however, with Jesus as our treasure, we are never crushed nor in despair.  The life that we live comes from the miraculous life of Jesus living in us...the treasure...our treasure.

When this is over, as a child of Jesus, you...we...will continue to live a victorious life.

What will be different?  The world will change but Jesus never changes.  His love for us is constant and consistent.

Will we change? Absolutely!  We will grow in the knowledge of our Salvation and love for Jesus.  Perhaps, we will even be able to share that love with others.

Change?  Yes!  Everything changes – except….Jesus.  Are you ready?  If so, hold on to Jesus.  He’s the same yesterday, today, and will be the same in our tomorrows.

When this is over

I hope I take a little less for granted,

Hope I'm a little more understandin'

When some things don't make sense.

When this is over

I hope I smile at a passin' stranger,

Take time to get to know my neighbors,

And break bread every now and then.

When This Is Over.  Song by Jimmie Allen, Rita Wilson, and Tauren Wells
