Our Deliverer – Lent Day 13

We  wait for the Lord; He is our deliverer and shield, For our hearts rejoice in Him, for we trust in His holy name.  May we experience your faithfulness, O Lord, for we wait for you. Psalm 33:20-22

There is that word again…Wait!  Can you believe it?  That seems to be a great part of Lent for us…Waiting!  Waiting!  And even more…WAITING!

Actually, let’s move past waiting and delve into Deliverer!  We all need someone to look after us from time to time.  How about a Good Samaritan?  A Liberator?  Or try this one…a Guardian Angel?

Do you get the idea?  A deliverer is more than a good grandparent, whisking a naughty child out the house.  A deliverer is a savior – one who saves us in a time of desperate need.  We rejoice in Him because He cares for us and loves us deeply.  Our deliverer is faithful and we long to experience His faithfulness.

If waiting is the pathway to our deliverer, then let’s wait expectantly…knowing that He will come.  While we wait, how about some rejoicing?

There is beauty rising from these ashes,
There is new life in these dry bones.
There's a revival flowing like a fountain,
There's a new song waiting to be sung,
Our Deliverer is coming!
